The prior year, 1974, Feynman was under pressure in his one and only appearance as Caltech’s Commencement speaker. His talk, “Unscientific Evidence,” dealt with the relationship of science, evidence, and truth. He urged students to guard their integrity in a world fraught with fallacies and compromises. Feynman’s address was printed in the June issue of Caltech’s Magazine, Engineering and Science, under the title “Cargo Cult Science.”
