Our CaltechAUTHORS repository—home to over 100,000 publications written by Caltech researchers—has migrated to a new platform, InvenioRDM. Most items in CaltechAUTHORS are articles, but there are also books, book chapters, conference papers, and more. The repository is updated continuously as departments and library staff add available and recently published documents.

The Caltech Library is one of the first libraries worldwide to go live on this newest platform. InvenioRDM is the result of an international collaboration to develop a state-of-the-art institutional/data repository platform. Caltech Library has been a development partner with the CERN-based effort since its inception in 2019.

The migration to InvenioRDM enhances many available features, such as:

—Improved landing pages with clearer metadata display and file previews

—A full search engine, including searching all attached documents

—A modern repository platform with automation potential

—Enhanced metadata capabilities, such as identifying affiliations with ROR identifiers

—Accessibility improvements

Following the successful migration from our original Eprints platform, the migration team is tackling completion of the migration of problematic records, optimizing the ingest and review workflows, and creating user documentation and training materials.  We anticipate beginning broad deposit efforts following the implementation of Shibboleth single-sign on authentication, the week of September 11. For any urgent deposits or access issues, please email coda@caltech.libanswers.com.
