If you're in Geochemistry, you might make use of SciFinder, a resource from the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), which is a curated database of chemical and bibliographic information that covers several scientific and biomedical fields, with an emphasis on chemistry.
In order to use SciFinder, you need to have a valid access.caltech account in order to register for a SciFinder account. If you have a login/password from a previous institution, it will not work on Caltech's IP range. You need to register for a new account with your @caltech.edu email address.
