U.S. Copyright Office

The Copyright Office is an office of record, a place where claims to copyright are registered and where documents relating to copyright may be recorded when the requirements of the copyright law are met.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

The U.S.P.T.O. is the federal agency responsible for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks.

American Library Association

Copyright issues are among the most hotly contested areas in the legal and legislative world; billions of dollars are at stake. Legal principles and technological capabilities are constantly challenging each other and every outcome can directly affect the future of libraries.
