Hannah Dvorak-Carbone, from the Office of Technology Transfer, will present a review of the patenting process, including changes introduced by the America Invents Act of 2013. This will be followed by a Caltech Librarian presenting a brief overview of patent searching, locating English language patent equivalents, legal status issues, and current awareness techniques.

Spalding Laboratory 106 (Hartley Memorial Seminar Room)
Caltech’s access to Acta Crystallographica is functioning now. Licensed access is from 1997 to current (in most cases, unless earliest access begins after 1997). Caltech licensed access is available on the Wiley Online Library and IUCR platforms/host sites.
Caltech’s access to Journal of Fluid Mechanics has been interrupted. This affects all content published since January 2000. Earlier material is still available. Library staff are working with the publisher to restore access.
The maintenance work on the CODA CaltechCampusPubs database is complete and CampusPubs is available.
All non-Caltech student, faculty & staff registration services end at 3pm. SFL closes at midnight.
Libraries will only be open to those with Caltech or Reader’s ID. SFL open 9am – midnight. Millikan and Dabney open 9am – 5pm. Cahill and Geology closed all day.
SFL resumes regular hours at 9am. Mililkan and Dabney open regular Saturday hours.
All libraries have normal Sunday hours.

The lists of new books and journals added to the libraries’ collections during the month of June 2014 are now available. This month’s book list includes book cover images for many items, and links to Amazon to allow you to browse the books electronically. Please note that we provide no guarantee that Amazon has contracted with the publisher to allow viewers to browse specific books.
The CODA CampusPubs database will be undergoing maintenance on Friday 7/4 and may be unavailable for parts of the day. Other CODA databases including CaltechAUTHORS and CaltechTHESIS will be unaffected by this outage.
