Hannah Dvorak-Carbone (Office of Technology Transfer) will present a review of the patenting process. This will be followed by a quick review of patent searching, locating English language patent equivalents, legal status issues, and current awareness techniques by Dana Roth and ample time for questions. For the first time in its history, the U.S. will have a ‘first to file’ patent system, replacing the ‘first to invent’ system, when the America Invents Act comes into full force on March 16, 2013. What does this mean for you and for Caltech?
