Journal OF Combinatorial Chemistry

The first print issue of 'Journal of Combinatorial Chemistry', a new ACS journal, was published this week. This inaugural issue includes a historical perspective article - Parallel Personal Comments on "Classical" Papers in Combinatorial Chemistry by Michal Lebl.

Accessing the html version of this article on the journal’s Web site: http://pubs.acs.org/journals/jcchff/index.html also allows you to view the abstracts and full-text of some of the earlier papers published in this field.

From the journal's home page, first click on BROWSE TABLE OF CONTENTS and then click on ASAP CONTENTS for future issue articles.

As with all ACS journals, both published articles from 1996+, as well as articles scheduled for publication in future issues can be accessed via the ACS journal web page at http://pubs.acs.org

Modern Drug Discovery

The Library has received the first issues of Modern Drug Discovery, another new ACS journal. Each biomonthly issue features articles both on the newest areas in drug and life science research and ones that examine cutting-edge technologies in drug discovery. There are also informative profiles of leaders in the field as well as analyses of new products in the lab and on the market.

In addition to electronic access to the current issue, 'hot articles' from previous issues will be available at:

http://pubs.acs.org/journals/mdd/index.html

PhysChemComm

PhysChemComm is an electronic communications journal (published by the Royal Society of Chemistry) dedicated to publishing innovative research covering all aspects of chemical physics. Articles exist in a fully searchable database at:

http://www.rsc.org/is/journals/current/physchemcomm/pcccon.htm

It is also possible to register with the PhysChemComm e-mail update service, and receive news of articles as they are published in the Journal.

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP)

This journal replaces both J. Chem. Soc. Faraday Trans. and Ber. Bunsengesell. Phys. Chem. and is intended as a 'journal of the European chemical societies. Both of the January 1999 issues are now available on the WWW at:

http://www.rsc.org/is/journals/current/pccp/pccpcon.htm

Methods Finder

Free 30 day trials to MethodsFinder, a new database produced by BIOSIS (Biological Abstracts), are available at:

http://www.methodsfinder.org/search/search_frame_login.html

MethodsFinder contains more than 20,000 records culled from the literature published since January 1, 1998. BIOSIS is also gathering thousands of complete, step-by-step protocols directly from researchers, as well as from commercial suppliers. MethodsFinder will be updated weekly with the latest information on techniques, reagents, and equipment.

The MethodsFinder search engine allows you to search for author names, chemicals or biochemicals, title or abstract words & methods or equipment of interest. You may also browse by biological concept, methodology, scientific meeting, or source publication. The Managing Editor will actively solicit feedback from users on enhancements to the content. BIOSIS will be especially interested in learning from researchers in specific fields of study, those seminal, historical works that are deemed essential to a comprehensive, protocol database. We will also want your feedback on which vendors, web sites, meetings, and scientific publications you believe are currently covering technical issues most effectively.

Please send any comments about the usefulness of this new service to Daniel Taylor as a subscription is required after the free trial
